Does this sound good for a start? - 2009/11/01 23:49
Hey guys, new here.
I'm 15 years old and turning 16 in Feb next year. I've been fascinated with planes ever since I could remember (like.... last night for example ).
I live in Western Australia and so far after a fortnight of looking into uni's and the courses they provide my sights are set on:

Once I graduate school, the year after in 2012 I'll start my Bachelor of Aviation at edith cowan uni. For this course, a student must take their PPL at the same time of doing the course. Hoping everything goes smoothly, this course will take 3 years.
Now, by that time I would most definitely have attained my PPL. Once my Bachelor of Aviation is achieved, should I do an extra 2 years to attain a Masters?
My view is that if I do my Masters it would stand out in my resume if I were to send my CV to a charter company. Financially, it would be a problem as I understand doing this sort of course of X amount of years will cost in excess of $200,000

However, would would happen if I were to just get my bachelor and try to start working at a small charter company to get my hours up? Will I have a chance at ever flying passenger jets?

If I choose the latter I would have money in the pocket sooner, but does that hinder my chance at moving up the ranks to a passenger jet pilot?
