I have also just turned 40, married, 2 kids and want to do my cpl. I have just passed my class-1 medical and am looking for the best way forward towards a cpl. I was going to go the RA route and do 30 hours in an RA and then the remainder on a 172 to get my ppl as this seems to be the cheapest option but I would like to hear other opinions. Apparently for a cpl, 100hours can be done in an RA. If this is actually true then flying RA is by far the cheapest option. Any thoughts/opinions would be very much appreciated.
