Are all of you Bankstown pilots? Quite a few of the instructors at the college I train at (CoastJet/Johnston Aviation) trained at Bankstown. Just last week I flew into controlled airspace for the first time. I was a bit apprehensive at first, having to follow exactly what the ATC said, but it was actually fine. Still, I think I do enjoy CTAF aerodromes more. Next week it's Tamworth for me, then Grafton and Coffs, then my last solo PPL navex, and then revision for the test.
I think a few of you share my frustration as a VFR pilot in bad weather, so next up for me is MEICR, and the IREX. And then CPL. And then an instructor rating, hopefully.
Happy Flying!
Fiona

Re:Nearing GFPT - 2007/11/01 17:56
Hey guys I just found this forum. Its good to have a spot for students. I am flying out of the gold coast (coolangatta airport YBCG) 7 hrs in a c152 and my last lesson was stalling. which was really fun even though you sometimes wonder if this almost 30 y/o plane will hold together lol. Its really good to hear about other peoples experiences and its good to know im not the only one overwhelmed by the BAK study. im currently flying once a week and aiming at getting a cpl but i'll probably need to get command instrument multi as well to get a job.
one question for you guys, I've read a few things about this pilot shortage australia is having (great news for us!) and I read a news article the other day about the government looking at HECS for pilot training. has anyone heard anything about this? I wonder if its only if you attend a uni for training.
I'll try and put some posts about my progress and look forward to reading about everyone else's flight training.
Cheers
Tom

Michael (manxaura) Are you still around? Just wondering if you got your GFPT? I took a six month break from flying (finances, not by choice) and now I'm getting back into it. Hope to hear from you.
Peter
